LTATM Podcast Description

Hello, I’m Shels L Pix Honeysuckle, and welcome to Let’s Talk About The Music! This isn’t just another music talk show—it’s a space for real, in-depth conversations about the stories behind the songs, the experiences that shape them, and the impact music has on our lives. With both academic training and personal experience, I’ve dedicated years to studying and understanding music’s deeper role in our world.

I spent six years studying podcasting at KGRG FM and KGRG1 while earning my AAA in Business Management at Green River College. That experience shaped how I approach discussions, blending the art of storytelling with the business side of the music industry. In September 2025, I’ll be continuing my education at Central Washington University (CWU) to further expand my expertise.

Every episode is a conversation—sometimes with musicians, sometimes with industry professionals, and sometimes just me exploring a compelling topic. But what makes Let’s Talk About The Music unique is that my guests aren’t just interviewed—they become my co-hosts. Together, we dive into a topic they choose, exploring its history, its influence, and its relevance today. This sets the stage for a deeper discussion before we transition into learning more about the guest’s journey, music, and insights.

I don’t focus on the latest EP releases or tour announcements—that’s not what this podcast is about. Instead, we tackle meaningful themes, from the healing power of music to mental health, gender representation in the industry, and other crucial discussions. For example, in a past episode, I spoke with two musicians about their songs on mental health, highlighting the message that no one is alone in their struggles. In another, I explored the experiences of all-female drummers navigating a male-dominated industry. These conversations go beyond music—they’re about the human experiences that shape it.

Podcast Structure & Scheduling

Each episode typically runs about an hour, sometimes stretching to two if the conversation is flowing. I record every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 AM (PST) and 6 PM (PST) and keep a few episodes ahead to ensure consistency.

LTATM Blogs

Every podcast episode is accompanied by a blog post on the official LTATM website. These posts provide a synopsis of the discussion and highlight the featured guest co-hosts, including links to their websites and social media. Podcasts are available for live audio streaming, with a video version posted three days later.

The Journey Forward

I’ve spent years crafting this podcast into something meaningful—something that stands apart from the usual industry chatter. My goal is to foster conversations that matter, conversations that push beyond surface-level discussions and get to the heart of what music means to those who create it.

And stay tuned! I’m working on making the show even more interactive, with opportunities for listeners to engage, and possibly even live Q&A sessions in the future. The journey is just beginning, and I’m excited to have you along for the ride.
